I’m Linda Brown, 37, and Jaco turned out to be more than a beach—it was a reset button. I stayed in a Beach-Side Airbnb Apartment in Jaco where mornings started with coffee and soft gray light. Street vendors waved from doorways with that easy Costa Rican kindness.

I built my week on small adventures: Ziplining through Rainforest, Waterfall Tour in Bijagual, Jaco Walk Open Air Shops, and Tsunami Sushi Restaurant because I can’t resist a roll after a day on the sand. Locals shared tips; drivers were patient; guides were generous with their time.

Herradura offered boat-watching calm, Playa Hermosa brought the steady rhythm of surfers, and the day-trip list stretched to Tarcoles and Manuel Antonio. Taxis and Ubers were quick; the bus was easy. It felt safe to wander, and it felt right to linger.

Someone pointed out scarlet macaws above the palms. I would’ve missed them otherwise.

At night I floated from a beachfront drink to a bright little casino detour to a dance floor where everyone seemed happy to be exactly where they were. I walked back under palm shadows and streetlights, comfortable and content.

Jaco is the kind of place that hands you both energy and ease. I’m going home rested, a little braver, and already sharing my favorite spots with friends.
